Oh. Then it must have been my mistake.

You're the first rookie to ever change their story once it has been pointed out they did not notice in the telling they inadvertently documented their negligence toward their simplest duties.

Portable scales are used for getting an idea of your weight. If they show you to be overweight, they send you to the nearest highway scale to weigh before deciding if you will be cited.
Once a scale is moved, it is no longer considered in calibration or accurate. While they may be perfectly correct, calibration requirements are such that they are not moved.
Therefore, not being able to guarantee accuracy, the officer will not (normally) cite you.
BUT....if you urinate them off, they may cite you anyway, just to ruin your day and require you to show up to defend yourself. So be polite, contain yourself and if you're marginal, they will normally send you on your way.
Better yet, scale your load in the first place and save yourself a lot of worry!

    pattyj Thanks this.

I've worked on trucks pulling bee loads, didn't seem like that big of a deal. I guess it was usually at night, that might make a difference. Cooler temps to calm down the bees or something.

And your name is "bee" spelled backwards. Oh, the irony!
