Granted yes I agree you have to be a dumb ### to accept a load like that. That driver had nothing to do with securing that. That is shipper secured. I’ve refused truck Body loads when I find out that’s how it’s secured. I’ve seen them all like that, melton, and then there’s another big carrier from IL I believe with Mack’s, they haul bodies often just like this, and I often wondered how it’s legal.

I was going to say, I have seen truck bodies secured the same way.
Seems sketchy to me, but according to the shipping laws, if they load it like that all the time, then it must be ok

The load is secured by the shipper. Those straps are 1 1/2 inches rated for 4500 lbs if memory serves me. Same stuff used on rail loads. They have a machine, like used for plastic banding, that tension it and installs the clamp. Would like to see 4 over the top, but it is actually pretty good. Knapheide and reading plus a few other of the body builders use the same method. Hauled many a load of these, never had a problem with them.
