I did see them, but I'm much more of an in-person learner, not a watch-TV-and-learn learner. I can't asks questions of a YouTube video.

Whether it is Gordon or "Not Gordon" is irrelevant. Should you make the adjustment then you have just made yourself liable if an accident occurs and brakes are an issue. I assure you that any company will shift the blame to you if you make the adjustment. Best to always consider protecting yourself in these situations because nobody else is.

I'd much rather make the adjustment, know my brakes better as a result, rather than stick my head ostrich-like somewhere in the dirt.

Here is a stunning PDF on truck driver worksite-induced morbidity: http://www.uncg.edu/phe/faculty/apostolopoulos/AAOHNJ.pdf

It comes from an organization, the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. In 2005, the FMCSA linked various truck driver health issues to their occupation. Then in 2007, the Bureau of Labor Statistics categorized truck driving among the highest health risk occupations.

This report is a 'critical review' of the literature relating to truck driver worksite-induced morbidity.

    It's an eye-opener.

If in Indy tomorrow, Kazablanka on Rockville over by Sam's Club has a buffet I really like. Of course, Gordon's further away now. From State cop to coal miner to truck driver? Where did you slide the white collar professional in? Field rep or something like that for a shock absorber mfg?

By the way, that's one ugly pic. Hope that's your dog, not just your days off.

That was after I left the mines in '88. Went to work for a company that made auto parts and worked my way into management then sales. The sales thing led me from one company to the next with better opportunities each time. Then that led to me getting an upper management job in Tennessee only to have the industry devastated by Chinese imports. Only thing left for an overpaid, over the hill guy like me to do was trucking. No one would hire me because of my age or overqualified or I was told I commanded to high of a salary...lol...Trooper was '78-'80.. when I left I was topped out pay scale at $7.00/HR. If you drove a truck on I71 south of Columbus I270 US23 you would have known me as the shadow. Because I never used a radar and would always pace you at night with my headlights out... I know .. thats cheating...lol

Most ex-cops I know still carry. My dogs are sleeping rump to rump a few feet away. One's paws are twitching along with his face... Looking at that pic, I'm not sure they'd let you in Kazablanka by the front door. Um-mm, maybe take you in the service entry and serve you instead. After suficient prep, of course.

tow614, I think you're new pic is AWESOME. It's you. Barney at his best.

I'm over at OTR PAY POVERTY WAGES while I ponder how the departure of the Intimidator and Fleet Manager should temper my narrative. I figure the shelf-life of my narrative is about one year.
