    Recap from Prairie du Chien (Wednesday evening):
    --Bumped dock Saturday to finish out Emergency Expedite run to KY. $325 to driver, just over 72 cents/mile. Friday evening to Saturday afternoon.
    --Sunday home.
    --Left out 10 am Monday for Prairie. Bumped dock 6 pm Tuesday. $329.16
    --Left back out Tuesday for Central Illinois.
    --Loaded this morning for Milwaukee. $700 to truck, $150 to driver. 250 miles plus 100 out-of-route miles. That's like $7/mile for off-route miles. Continued on to Prairie du Chien.

    --Home (off) Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Prairie du Chien again Monday.
    It's all good.

    I think since Gordon is dead being on topic doesnt matter. Its fun to read, and lets me know that the headaches and anxiety that come with this job are not just mine.

    Thx, Cougfan and Bumpy! New conversations so far this week:
    --Extended talk with Gordon driver, after 4 years left Heartland for GTI and, of course, found himself right back at HTLD. Next stop, Schneider Choice;
    --Seward driver went through orientation with driver who died on I-74 Indiana westbound MM 20 into bridge support a while back, leaving no skid marks;
    --Janet, one of the great attendants at Willow Creek Rest Area, southbound Illinois I-39. Found victim, allegedly strangled by Terrence Doddy, a few weeks back at same rest area.
    Well, maybe it's not all good. Not all the time... No, not all the time.

    Well.C'mon Vic!! Tell about your conversations with "them". WTH? I'm bored in Sioux Falls and find nothing??:biggrin_25511: I would also like to read about Vietnam if ya get bored with writing about Truckin "stuff". My oldest brother was In-Country but he and I haven't spoke for over 35 years..and my other brother over there won't talk about it...

    Speaking of chicks (yeah, I peeked at Right Toe--still on my 'ignore' list), opened access between pen with 2 Reds and the Comets. After some small fighting, ended up with all of them in larger pen with access to coop. Removed the broody and her nest box and 10 likely fertile eggs to the small pen, which becomes the new 'chick suite'. Surprisingly quiet out there. It's all good.
