    Oops!! Mazok Creek...
    --Running out I-74 westbound
--Distracted by a slow, green Kia Soul at Bloomington/Normal
--Went right past x263 to I-74 west
--Becomes I-55 so you exit to stay on I-74
--Passed right by lane closed to I-39 north (x264) my usual
--While all the corn and soybean fields look pretty much the same,
--Had not crossed Mazok Creek on I-74... I'd notice THAT
--Or running along side RR tracks, or exit to Streator...
--50-mile scenic detour, PetsMart DC, Tyson facility, Ace Hdwre DC, Sapp Bros
--Turns 425-mile 'the short way' into 475-miles
--Ugh!! Oh, Hell, it's all good. Right??
--Taking my Mandatory 30, rest area near Princeton.

Definitely a live chick and a hatched egg shell under broody...
--Didn't want to disturb her any more than taking a peek
--Heard it can be difficult to keep these chicken youngsters alive
--Why did broody kick dirt into her water??
--5 eggs in the nesting box from the 2 Comets and 2 Reds
--Had planned an earlier start tomorrow, not sure now
--Plan is to deliver the load I brought from Prairie du Chien
--Then turn right back around again for Prairie
    --Three of these this week
--Yard Boss ran a load to Fort Wayne, he'll be out 6 hours tonight
--Didn't trust the two co-drivers from our Illinois unit to run it
--Last week he ran Evansvilles for one driver and Lafayettes for another
--Plus his own job during the day!!

    Barely under the Bell!!

--Normally they load 24/7 here (Prairie du Chien)
--Billing only available 6 am to 10 pm M-F, though.
--Pulled in 6 pm, told guard shack picking up a Thursday
--(3 loads for Thursday, all deliver Friday in Indiana)
--Will park this trailer loaded near Yard until Friday, come back Thursday
--Grab another. Del both Friday. Hear Tom over, squawk box
--"Important here, guys. Dock's closing early tonight, get Vic in here..."
--They had already shut down. Getting loaded anyway. 18 skids. Thx, Tom!!
--Next stop, Huckleberry's for Creamy Mushroom with Wild Rice soup.

    28 Skids???????
--How'd they get 28 skids on this trailer?
--Max always has been 26. Can't stack 'em.
--We've been gearing up all week for 3 trucks Thursday
--Which is why we planned me 3 trips.
    --Called Yard Boss immediately.
    --We have some new elasticity.
--Could come in Friday for Monday's, for example
--Just have to leave on trailer until Tuesday deliver.
We are so, so confused now!!

Standard pallet/skid is 40" x 48" -- Assuming you have a 102" wide van, you can load them in either orientation -- the old way used with 96" trailers will limit you to 26 single-stacks (2 rows, 13 deep: 52' long, 6.7' wide). The other orientation will limit you to 30 pallets (2 rows, 15 deep: 50' long, 8' wide)

That's why I call you 'Bright One'! Thx.

Probably call Yard Boss right now.

//It probably is a standard pallet, dunno. At the shipper, I bump the dock on green light, turns red, pull out on green again. Find the seal taped either to a rear pallet or right rear trailer wall upright. Shut doors. Drive around building, go in and sign bill. Wave to guard on way out.

At consignee, pull up to first of two holes that empties and green light, open doors, bump dock, walk in, get bill signed, return to truck, pull out on green light. Shut doors, go fuel and return to Yard.

I could look at load at consignee, just haven't/don't. Trucks are always waiting to get in, so good to pull out promptly. Funnee!!

Yard Boss and I laughed long about this. Big burden off both of us. I can either take rest of week off and get some work done at home (choice #1), watch remaining chicks hatch, should be about 2/day or go on load board and 'go anywhere' (per Yard Boss) or do some local/regional work for him.

(Yeah, sure. Like right now where he's scrambling to cover an extra Fort Wayne and has borrowed/begged a driver/truck/trailer from Illinois?? Nah!! Company needs to get him the assets he needs--trailers, drivers, trucks--to run this Yard. Chronically over-stretched. Had long talk with CFO about this yesterday.)

    Home sounds good.
