Got this from Becky the CPA:
John is the County Health guy who refused to serve 5-day notice to vacate which the council-member wanted served on TH; Rick is the property owner.
Now, we know no good deed goes unpunished...
So expect next shoe will drop sometime soon on this mini-saga!!

The latest Yard Boss switcheroo...
--Now Yard Boss wants another driver, Mack, to run out with me Monday
--Mack's done the Prairie run 1x or 2x way back when, so's some familiar
--Works on the mail side where $$ are much better, but got days cut back
--He'll take Yard Boss' truck and smoke in it; Yard Boss doesn't smoke
--Any more than I do, but that's typical, vintage Yard Boss
--Whatever it takes, let driver smoke in his truck, okay fine
--Mack isn't slipseating my truck and smoke, too. Not. An. Option.
--Hope is have Mack run Mondays to Prairie, and "both get what you want"
--Interesting proposal. Mack gets extra work; I get time off...
--Again, vintage Yard Boss trying to keep everybody happy
--I wouldn't last two weeks at his job, keeping folks happy not my bent
--Funny that I'm not least bit surprised, at least not another 'emergency'Last edited: Aug 29, 2014

Mack's name has come up before...
--Was an O/O for many years, ripped off by a carrier
--Lost truck and has been company driver ever since
--I hear about Mack whenever Yard Boss delivers standard
--"Don't Buy That Truck" lecture... Heard it several times already
--Very possible Yard Boss has secondary, ulterior motive here
--Yard Boss doing the Yard Boss shuffle...
--Tuesday's going to be edgy anyway; Illinois unit did not pick up
--Separate 4 skids yesterday that need to be in Indiana today
--Just like the 26 I've got; will go with my 15 for Tuesday
--The 4 skids are now late, claim is driver did not scale Postville load
--Despite scale at shipper, just brought to Illinois yard and dropped
--For another driver to deliver today, $1500 we don't get for load
--Driver today did scale at TS (truck stop) and returned to shipper
--Shipper's gonna be upset; Postville's probably gonna be upset
--Prairie could be really, really upset, same for our Indiana customer
That's trucking. I expect to be warmly received Tuesday on both ends.
//Raining really, really hard--Farmland Rest Area. Stopped to check coolant... came out of like nowhere and it's sunny and bright out again, just that fast!Last edited: Aug 29, 2014

Hopefully I catch up to you soon. I was in bed trying to sleep when you posted that message. My alarm rings at 01:00 for my 2am to 2pm shift I have on Fridays. Good to hear the County K route worked out. No small towns to putt through or 3 turns on residential streets to get out of Lancaster.

2 am to 2 pm! Ugh!!
Just got text that 'they' are moving TH off my property to his new digs. Now, how do 'they' move an unplated, unregistered RV, driven by a homeless guy with no drivers license??
I ask you!! And 'they' are the local authorities...
Town police gonna escort him or hide until over?Last edited: Aug 30, 2014

Ugh!! Now that's ugly...
--Stuff I haul is tall rolls on skids, opened doors
--Looked like big, knocked over bowling pins, called Yard Boss
--"You better come over, look at this," I tell him.
--"Nah," he says, "Too far away."
--So there was a law enforcement vehicle with lights on, right side I-74 E
--Slowed to let a Werner in, look over and there's officer walking median
--Had been kicking clothes off Interstate from a lost bag of clothes
--In front of me, Werner slams his slowers; Hit mine, too, really hard
--Saw Werner's brake lights, stuff on road, pedestrian officer
--The result's obvious after seal's broke
--Shipper's even less concerned than Yard Boss
--"No, problem, Vic, you can't hurt the stuff."
--Oh. Really. Who knew?Last edited: Aug 30, 2014

Sure enough, TH and his RV and 3 dogs have moved off...
--Didn't drive over to find his new camp outside of town limits
--Matter of fact was thinking all I had to do today was
--Catch up on my pay sheets, a week behind, so might
--Get paid for only one week on next pay check
--Then remembered, take the Sable wagon I'm driving (have 2)
--Over to Pete's, have the coolant reservoir and upper hose
--Swapped out. $40 and 2 $2-in-quarters tips for his 'B' team
--Bought basil, lemonade, ground cherries, and Bivi's tamales from
--Spencer every-Saturday Farmer's Market in town next to Babb's
--24 hr grocery been in town a hundred years or so
--Okay, not a hundred, 86 years or there abouts,
--Still holding Wal-Mart off from building newer, bigger store
--Tivoli (movie theatre, fancy spelling, restored recently) has Ninja
--Turtles, $5 admission, do I really need Nina Turtles??
For anything??Last edited: Aug 30, 2014

Hi Hambeldon! Hi ryanro77! Hi tsavory! Thx for visiting!
--All right, saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle flick
--tsavory kind of jogged my memory from this morning
--A box turtle heading out my drive, very unusual
--Little guy, about 3-1/2" long and, say, 2-1/2" wide
--Protected here in Indiana, imprint on a small area
--Can't remove them from where you find them except
--If trying to cross road, just take across road to other side
--That's safety, they will continue on from there and be fine
--Otherwise, will keep trying to cross same road and
--If taken out of their 'imprinted' area, then forever lost
--Go in circles, so I'm told; took it across road, concerned about it
--Across the road's a steep hill, so feared he'd turn around. Didn't
--Apparently or would have been crunched on highway
Not today anyway.Last edited: Aug 30, 2014

I'm looking at 2 trucks up in Wisconsin, 1 water tanker here in Indiana...
--Met with the Wisconsin owner 1x, just turned 80, remarried about 2 yrs ago
--Horrific injuries, not sure if war or peace time, lost right hand, head injury
--Really like to know the story behind those wounds, major scars
--Has '92 and '94 International cabovers, Cummins 350 and 325 engines
--The '94 has 724K and that's 1/4 mil (250,000 miles) less than
--2005 International 9400i/Cummins ISX I drive up to Prairie each week
--'92 has 875K, still less than my company truck; both former Roehl rigs
--Both have ECM's and cruise control, important for fuel mileage
--Both were licensed and run up until about a year ago, in 2013
--His insurance was really cheap, he said $2750 each per truck
--Doubt if I could get anything near that, haven't researched
--And he's not asking much, $8K for the '94, $6K for the '92
Like to buy both.Last edited: Aug 31, 2014
