Don't do it put that money in the bank. They will fight and can decline any repairs for the stupidest reasons.
The biggest issue is wait times for them to approve a repair can be anywhere from 1-5 days..
Thats extra down time now. You better have perfect record keeping also as they will want every record when you try to make a claim.
I've seen drivers fail because they think those warrantys will save you...Crude Truckin', RobinG, Rideandrepair and 4 others Thank this. -
I agree with @TruckerPete don't send your money to some stranger who promises to pay for repairs later. Put the same money in a dedicated account for repairs and spend that for repairs. Prepaid Maintenance leaves a lot of room for a crook to take your money, if not just add days more of lost revenue while they take their sweet time paying a bill after the repair is done.
There are bogus "car warranty" companies that advertise you pay them $ per month and they will pay the mechanic of your choice, in the future, if your car needs major repairs. They collect money from suckers for months or years and then disappear with the money and leave the victims with nothing. Don't do it.Crude Truckin', RobinG, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
I was looking into more of the maintenance plan - oil and filter changes. etc., not repairs; some are offered by OEMsRideandrepair Thanks this.

Still wouldn't do that then you have to get approval to get a PM done... For all that just go drive a company truck as they tell you when to change oil. It's the same thing at that point.Crude Truckin', RobinG, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this.

If the manufacturers say change oil every million miles that’s when they will do it .. also it will be at a shop they choose even if it takes a month to get in.. if you’re looking at basic maintenance find your own convenient mechanic it will be cheaper and you’re less likely of having a shop rookie start the truck without oil in it to move to the next bay .

Never ever pay for services not yet rendered! Why give someone else your money (that you could leave in the bank to make interest)? What do you think they'll do with your money? They'll put it in the bank and collect interest on it. Then, in the end, they make more money on the oil change.

I got a laugh at the bigger suckers (bigger than anyone who signed up for their lease) over at Prime who let them take a portion of their pay every week for a maintenance and repair account.
Crude Truckin', RobinG and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
OK. What is the advantage of the prepaid PMs?RobinG and Rideandrepair Thank this.
-
Don’t!
They are in the business to make a profit and therefore it has to be more expensive than you paying for it yourself. There are no free lunches, pay for your own maintenance as you go.Crude Truckin', RobinG and Rideandrepair Thank this.
