I have asked many questions about various companies, I have decided to go with Prime. While some on here are scratching their heads asking why would I go there, speed limiters, forced dispatch, I will expand on why.
Why not go with some of the other companies out there? While I have some driving experience, I have zero OTR, or dealing with how the system actually works. I considered some other outfits, but speaking with their drivers, I found there would be a huge learning curve. I was advised by almost all of them I should go somewhere and learn the basics of dealing with shipping/receiving, time management, trip planning, learning the basics.
Now for the good news, I went back this past week and took a refresher, 40 hours worth, so no contract, we shall see what happens.

Dealing with shippers/receivers, trip planning and time management can't be all that difficult if Prime drivers can do it!

Wish the best of luck to you, what division are you going with?
If you need help with anything or have questions to ask just holler.

I am undecided between refer and flatbed. Both have their pros and cons. I was told I can decide when I get close to finishing the TNT.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Psd phase doesn't matter what division you are in, more psd instructors on reefer side than flatbed.. I've heard if you switch during tnt phase or at end/after you'll have to go out with a flatbed trainer for the flatbed training I could be wrong though..
If you want to go flatbed I'd make sure they are aware of that and see if you can get a PSD/TNT instructor for it.
I've done both flatbed and reefer here at prime and each has their pros and cons. I personally love doing flatbed and have no intentions on switching to reefer ever again.

Good luck maybe we'll cross paths
