Here's my first thread here:
My Prime student-to-lease experience
So... Yep, I'm there with ya. Prime sure tries hard to put a bunch of polish on the industry. Just those handful of missteps they make seem to do their whole reputation in though to me. From what I saw at training with them, I still have no clue how the hell they churn out anyone without those students having PRIOR experience.
A big thing I don't understand is why don't they partner up with 3 or 4 lawyer association things like TVC (Crap from what I've heard) or OOIDA or some others, get some discounts, and push new lease operators into those programs? I just found out my minor fender bender I got with them costed me 3 points on my license. I'm trying to get into asphalt hauling here, and I'm really hoping it doesn't kill my chances. That's the real crime to me!
They'll give you some free food, a hotel room, and some school supplies (Half expected a box of Crayons), then you're behind the wheel of a 35,000 lb truck with a trainer that's an overworked psycho who's marriage is falling apart, and can't handle that, let alone me or you on his truck. My PSD guy was going through a divorce, and I didn't even want to talk to that... Guy I guess I'll say... by the time I got off his truck. My TNT guy was MY AGE, to and from Prime several times before, and...
...I mean I'm pretty sure there were some times when he was driving where I very well could have been crushed to death in the Sleeper.
Funny thing though?
You're still gonna find someone with a "Prime Inc." bib around their neck, their freakin' 47th "MILLION MILE" patches on their jacket, with their fork at the ready, and a steaming pile of doggy doodoo they're seasoning up that Prime themselves serve those guys. They will eat that turd platter with the biggest grin and they will love it to death.
Those people ACTUALLY exist.
But in all seriousness, I think the guys that actually make it at Prime must have an arrangement with a sibling or loved one and drive team. No way many of them are driving solo.
Prime inc aka crime inc

According to what you wrote you had 2 critical's and 1 preventable. Prime wanted you to do another 20,000 miles which is about a month in a team truck.
You messed up 3 times. An additional months training sounds fair to me. -

I didn't watch the entire trainer expulsion video since it was a "big blow out", he was fired, but no details were given.
He seems to be taking it awfully well for someone unjustly terminated.Western flyer, UsualSuspect, kemosabi49 and 2 others Thank this. -

I was a company driver at Prime for 2 years before going local. On the company side I ran flatbed then switched to tanker. I did well and was happy, they treated me pretty good. I never went lease nor had the desire to do so. I do remember a lot of the lease guys berating company drivers calling us slaves and talking about how much money they made and how far superior they were because they were doing a rent to own on a truck. To hear a lot of them tell it they were easily knocking down 5-10 grand a week lol. I would just smile, roll my eyes and move on. Just my 2 cents worth.

What newbie drivers don't get, they think they need to stay with prime to get the experience and the contract and so on but the reality is once you have a cdl, doors are unlocked for you if your willing to live in a truck and drive a lot of companys will take you, they are in dire need of drivers.
