Guys I've compared Prime's lease purchase program, and other purchase options prime has, to loan mountain, and some other ways to purchase outside of Prime on ttr a few times now. When I started doing that it was in response to the comments we were getting a lot of from the uninformed about leasing at prime, which has really stopped for a little while now. I figured if I could compare prime's purchase options with other ways to buy that those people would learn more about prime and then leave us alone, and they have. I think its a good program but I didn't make these comparisons because I wanted to become a pitch man for prime's lease purchase, I really didn't. But people have challenged the comparisons that I made, and I've had to come back and defend them so it kinda turned into that, even though it wasn't my original intention.
At the end of the day all the really matters is which way to buy is going to best suit the particular person, everyone has different needs, and everyone's situation is different. If you're buying you need to do your homework and find the way that's best for you, and your situation.
Prime is terrible.

I don't think providing honest and accurate information makes you a "pitch man". I appreciate the effort you made to share your knowledge, experience, and perspective … Thank you!
nofreetime Thanks this. -
A guy posted his settlement a while back - well, a link to it. Seventeen pages.
My settlement is 3 pages. Trailer revenue, tractor revenue, in/out summary.
I read through the whole thing, it was a little confusing but I managed to understand it. The penalty charges for running 'too many miles' I didn't agree with.
I'd like a new truck. Maybe in another year I'll have enough business credit built up, and a$30k down payment for a $140k glider. But I doubt I'd trade the ability to sit at the house all winter for the shiny new truck and its associated payments.
Lease purchase IS a way to do it, just one that I don't care for. To each their own.
And - leasing a truck from the same folks that despatch you isnt a scenario I'd recommend either. -
Yes you can. I first took my walk away lease truck to schnieder last July and just this may I for my own authority still under my walk away lease with prime.
Ok didn't see this earlier, sorry about that. Hope that answers the question.
