.. there is no confusion in that statement .. I said it's been debated about the FSC .. period .. and as I also said, if Prime was doing something illegal they would have already been sued/fined ..

Don't tell me the gross, tell me the net after expenses, fuel and lease payment to be exact. And give me the IFTA mile figures, not the mover miles directory numbers. From the sounds of things, $1 a mile freight or less after expenses, not including maint.
CleverNDGuy Thanks this. -
At the end of the day you are paying them to drive, fuel, and repair their truck.
CleverNDGuy Thanks this. -
You're doing the same thing as a company driver, you just get paid less.DAX_, swaggerjacker, thaistick and 1 other person Thank this.

What makes you think I am a company driver?
-
"The royal you"...general, not you.
-
"Net after expenses" is dependent upon each driver and any extras you have taken out of your settlement .. part of my expenses are the extra I have taken out for my e-fund and CPA .. both of those are amounts variable from week-to-week and by services offered that other drivers don't use (in the case of the CPA) or may have less withdrawn from their settlements (in the case of the e-fund) .. so I gave you the gross numbers and you can figure it out from there ..
I don't get into pissing contests over who makes the most money and how that's done because, quite simply, there are just a ton of variables out there .. I picked Prime because it has a reputation for being fair and generally honest, and they have one of the best safety records in the business .. I don't agree with everything all the time (just ask my FM) but Prime is in business to make money and does it's best to help me do the same with as little risk as possible .. yes, there is more money to be made "out there", generally at a higher level of risk .. at some point I may decide to go chase that ..
I also picked Prime as a starting point to build knowledge and experience, and stayed because I found it a decent place to work that treats me fairly (or at least as fairly as I wish to be treated) .. I've been pissed off a few times to the point that I have come close to turning in the keys, but I have a wife and children to feed and (so far) I have been able to do so at Prime .. I've been well over $3K in the hole due to family emergencies or extended time off the truck and bounced right back to profitability within 2-3 week, sometimes less .. Prime's freight network is strong enough to provide that opportunity ..
.. also .. a few more of those "intangible" benefits .. longevity "rewards" include "forgiven" (dismissed) lease payments that you can use when you need to .. the number of those are dependent on how long you have driven for Prime .. Safety and Fuel Rewards are also given out weekly as payments and as credits you can spend on swag/gear at the company store (and again, generally those prices are pretty darn fair) .. for instance I currently have a bit over $53.00 in credit at the company store and one "forgiven" lease payment I can use any time I like .. and I have a sweet gold ring with a diamond waiting on me to pick it up in Springfield for not having any service failures (late appointments) in the past 2 years .. I spend those store credits on clothing usually, so they don't accrue much above $150.00 before I'm getting a few new pairs of pants or shirts or hats or anew winter jacket .. or whatever .. lol ..
.. and pass a level 1 (or higher) inspection and you get $100.00 bonus ..
.. it all adds up ..Zivvy, lip zee and csmith1281 Thank this. -
Are you sure there ( company drivers) are paid less.Ive read thru the posts and none answered your original question. They only answered gross all there fixed expenses are pretty close to the same and fuel is the only variable still it will be close to same.If you grossed $4000 and your expenses are $3000 are you making more than a company driver? If your responsible for the cost of running the truck and it was so profitable why would they give away theres with no down money or credit check and then tell you walk away anytime?I would be willing to bet dinner that there probably not clearing more then .45 a mile for all there miles after expensesLast edited: Sep 19, 2017
csmith1281 Thanks this. -
Is prime going to an all automatic transmission fleet?
-
I'm in the no, no, no camp. I do have to say that FatherGuse has given some very well reasoned answers that you should be using to make your decision.
It's almost recruiter style but my gut is telling me he is the real deal, making it work for him.
Wishing you continued success Fuse.csmith1281 and FatherGuse Thank this.
