Before you changed jobs did you speak to current drivers working on the account at the new company or did you just listen to the recruiter and look at the company web site? In the future would you recommend drivers talk to current working drivers before changing jobs or trusting the recruiter and the company web sites to give accurate information.

You might get more help if you post your question in the Experienced Driver section.

To each is own but 14 hours is 14 hours. Most local jobs I've had I worked about 60 hours a week and when I was off... I was truly off. I get paid for everything I do instead of being on call forever and acting as a free security guard. I hated sitting around waiting for free.

One of my best friends used to be a recruiter for JB. He never once tried to get me to come drive for them. That speaks volumes, IMO. Also, I don't know if they still do, but they used to have a terminal in North Little Rock, AR. I used to drive by almost daily. There were never any shortage of empty Freightshakers stacked up at that place. Not sure what that says about the joint but, to me anyway, the optics leads one to believe they have a hard time keeping the meat in the seat.

They actually say average , but unfortunately that means a small percent making a lot are able to bring up that number . It’s similar to a bunch of $60k/year folks being in a room with somebody making millions , what’s the average salary in that room since he’s in there now ?

….. or they’re just plain lying

You're still believing what they're telling you.

Truck drivers should lower their expectations when picking a company. When a company says you'll make 95k, that's meant for you to assume that it's only in your dreams. Now if they said 65 or 75k, then I could see you being upset. Because honestly, a high performing OTR driver will probably hit 80k, that's also providing that freight is at a premium. Local drivers by enlarge make a reduced amount compared to OTR drivers, with very few exceptions. @tscottme says talk to other drivers at the job, but truck drivers are just as good of liars as recruiters in my mind. Truck drivers and most recruiters lie the minute they open their mouth.

How is that me believing them ? ….. And they’re not telling me anything as I’ve never had one interaction with JB Hunt regarding employment .

Either they’re using other numbers to raise the average or they’re lying ; that’s what I said .

I think UPS drivers make really good money. I'd give them a call. Best of luck.
