problem with reefer unit need help

    Coolant temp is this a sensor you’re referring to how do I check coolant temp ?

    It's a brass sensor that is threaded into the head.Scroll through unit data until is says engine temperature.It should be reading around 160 f depending on the ambient outside temp of your location.

    Mine reads in the 130s with low 30 degree Temps outside. Sound normal? Having same issue. New battery voltage reads fine not shutting off on auto mode when reaching temp. Just started doing it out of nowhere.

    I had a unit doing this, and it was no the coolant sensor. Instead the thermostat was stuck open, so it wasn't allowing the engine to reach a high enough operating temp.
