My problem with ELD tracking is all the added information they have access to that's none of their business. Also, when using the phone app they're actually tracking the driver and not their freight. That's a major privacy concern for me on a personal level. Last but certainly not least...it's a very valuable service they're getting for FREE because it seems nobody wants to charge for it. I've yet found a single broker willing to pay my tracking fee. Every time I mention the fees they immediately respond that isn't a requirement. Funny how that works. Typical customers will bleed you dry demanding everything for free if you let them. I'm running a business, not a charity.
They "say" the tracking ends when the load is delivered. BS. This is how they know there's 10,000 trucks in Texas and where to set the rates.
Do your self a favor and skip TQL. They got so bad Landstar quit doing business with them for several years.
Barely used TQL but they have tracking in their app. So no need to do anything extra as does most every big company does.
You can block the app. I have had one of their loads yet but a friend has. He has the app on his eld tablet. He said he turns it on when he picks up the load and off every night. They called once and he told them it's off when I'm off. They didnt say anything.
i had a broker call me earlier, wanting to know ETA. told him i’d be there sooner if i didn’t have to stop all the time to answer his texts.
