Yes, loose_leafs, it won't even pay basics so this has been a big shock for him. He left his last driving job because they weren't paying enough and he had to travel before reaching his truck. Now this pays even less, but he does have less travel. We thought it was going to be great! What a letdown!

Sorry to hear about your husband's experience. Sadly, what he is going through has become normal procedure for ALL the large trucking companies. Unfortunately, the same applies to most other corporate owned companies; the employees are getting screwed while the fellows at the top rake in record profits. And these practices will not only continue, they will become worse. Much worse.
That is, until all us workers finally quit putting up with it.skyviper73, drvrtech77, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -
They can research until the cows come home. It's not going to make a difference. The person on the other line can promise the world but they have no wriiten agreement to back it up. Even if they did, you are not represented. Therefore, you are a right to work employee. That means that you don't have a leg to stand on. Welcome to the world of junk companies. If he has 12 years experience, see if you can find a Union job. That's the only way he will ever have a guarantee.Supportwife, Surfer Joe, jamesgang and 1 other person Thank this.

"Right to work". Gotta love it.
Right to work for less is what it's really all about.
The person that started this thread's experiences are the reasons why unions were created in the first place.
All those anti union folks that are being paid what the rich fellows at the top feel like paying them are, more and more, feeling the effects of having no union representation; no pay, no benefits, lousy working conditions; can't take care of their family, etc.
Those corporate fellows are absolutely terrified of unions; you see, unions have a tendency to cut into their personal wealth.
No wonder the enormous expenditure of advertising an anti union "smear campaign" to keep the average worker misinformed.Supportwife, Toomanybikes and bigdogpile Thank this. -
Thanks HotH2o, We are working on that right now!

But are you figuring it by the on-duty time in your log book? Or adding your off duty time as well like a lot of the whiners do?BrenYoda883 Thanks this.
