We are having a debate with a large shed we ship from. This is fresh produce. I say that BOL needs to show weight, country of origin, qty and product description. Shed ops guy says they have never had weight and won't want to put it on there. Isn't weight required?

It's just worded you have to show inventory which can be a general total count of many various methods including boxes, pallets, weight, etc along with a general description. Your packing list has a more detailed inventory. The BOL is just a contract of movement and how it will be paid... prepaid, COD or charge. Whether it's 10,000 boxes or 42,000 lbs is irrelevant. One could write 26 pallets/general commodities and it would satisfy an inventory requirement if it's not hazmat. More detailed descriptions are more of an in house inventory control reference and not a requirement.
