Haha yeah it's pretty cushy for a first driving job. CO2 is ridiculously simple, too. Thanks for the responses.
I'd love it if all of you backed in if you could so I can pull my wiggle wagons through, but I am a realist! Muahaha !
^^^I like this guy^^^ Taking a "middle spot" in a 3 spot situation, is a lazy, stupid, inconsiderate action. 1). Lazy, because you are just taking the easiest way out. 2). Stupid, because you are setting yourself up and increasing your odds for a possible 'hit' on two sides rather than just one. 3). Inconsiderate, because you're making more work for the next two drivers looking to park. Now if there was two spots....you had to choose one...what else can you do. And I MORE than agree that the lazy, lazy, lazy people that park by the fuel island or scale should all hand in their CDL's and keys, and try to swim without an air tank to the deepest darkest depths off Hell.
I disagree. many of our peers have your view and it makes parking next to them difficult. How so? when just being between the lines is good enough for you but not for the rest of us.there is NO reason to not even the t/t up between the lines thus making it easier for others to back or pull in and then open the door to actually get out of the truck. granted there are times that the one #$!%stick that is selfish and parks unevenly thereby causes that entire segment of parking to be off,but if you can,and if you are out here you should by all rights be able to,park that darn truck/trailer evenly.please. I've had idiots back in next to me and set the brakes so close to my driver's door that i literally could not open my door because my mirror would hit their truck. yes i got out thru the passenger door and knocked on their door asking what the problem was.it took him a few times, quite a few times, but he eventually got it even. Yes i thanked him.so parking evenly and not just between the lines is almost imperative people especially in the tighter/smaller truckstops. be courteous.get out and look at your parking job and correct it if need be.
I see no problem with it. As long as you pull all the way up and are centered so the next guy can get in or behind you without hanging out in his lane or encroaching on his left or right. As for truck stop etiquette.....I don't think there is such a thing anymore. I'm in a TS in Terrell,TX every week, plenty of spots never seen it even close to full. But every morning I have to struggle to get to the exit due to all the steering wheel holders blocking it up. If the Oversize Load guys can get it in a spot I'm sure the in-breeders can.
This is a good thread..Truckstop etiquette..Or "common sense"....... First and foremost......DO NOT PARK YOUR BOBTAILS IN A FULL SPACE.... Drivers need those precious spaces especially at night..Go park your Bobtailsls near the fuel island, dumpster areas or by the enter/exit signs...Or in the car lots Secondly.......dont Stagger your parking...Its very rude to leave holes every other truck.....If their are 2-3-4 spots park next to another truck...Yeah I know it takes extra effort for you lazies.....But its just the right thing to do.... Thirdly......At night in a dark lot....Please be courteous and leave the markers on....it makes things so much easier for others to park...
I guess I should have been more clear. I agree as even as possible in the lines and not too far forward or back
Stop beating around the bush, am I supposed to guess how you really feel? lol, I'm gonna try and stay on your good side.
I will back up as far as possible say,up to a curb or the grass part if it is not a spot another truck can get in just to avoid that window to window parking lots of the younger generation of driver seems to be so adamant regarding.wtf? why would any driver want to park and be able to look directly over at another driver if there was room enough to not do so? creepy. sorry.almost ranted. I do appreciate the clarification and my contempt for the new breed of robot driver has been lessened. can you believe that i was lumping all of you together for a moment?
