I think everyone has covered it. Let me add to always make sure you don't have a high hook or a soft hook. Make sure your fifth wheels slightly raise up the trailers, or are at least even with the top of your upper plate. Even with the jaws around the kingpin, a soft hook might shake loose. If in doubt, release the fifth wheel and pull up and hit it firmly. Then stretch it out several times. Plan your route well, pups don't back up good. Its better to stop and ask directions than break a set down and rehook.

That is good. That will keep you on your toes. Just don't let it distract you once you get rolling. As soon as you are on your way, it will quickly feel natural. Difference is you are gonna be longer and have to swing a bit wider. You will do just fine.

Well I took the road test today, guess I did good enough that they still wanted to offer me the job! I'll start on 4/8. The road test was not bad, the guy giving it made me feel real comfortable, once we were on the road I didnt ever think about it I was just driving. Its going to be a big change from pulling flats and tanks, but I'm excited for the opportunity!

Dunno why you don't see many B trains in USA, they are much easier to hook and much easier to back, and much less swaying on the road

B trains have different weight issues. They are legal in Michigan. I don't know. Either way pulling doubles is fun. I find my day cab rides better and handles better when pulling doubles with the exception of the front end. My fifth wheel has to be all the way back and the mounting plate is set all the way back as well for container frames. All in all a pleasant experience!

I don't know about The wiggle wagons. But I pull Rocky Mountains double tanks. When I'm empty the pup trailer brakes are very touchy and easy to lock up. I close the air valve about halfway going to the pup And it calm's it down.
