On to other things.

I'm currently running system,as FL is busy in the Charlotte area.
So here's my week so far:

Tuesday: did local run/shuttles to tank wash.
Weds/thurs: went up to Canada and back to tank wash.
Friday: p/u at port of Newark for run to Ohio
Saturday: sitting waiting for customer tanks to have room to off load,then I'm supposed to bounce down to Charlotte NC for a load to Florida.
But it will be determined by how I sit here,no worries though I'm getting paid.

So far everything has run well,no problems with pay or time off.
Minor trouble with equipment but I can live with that.

On the new pay scale(in my area),when you run short loads you get paid a flat rate.
Some are better than others,so I try and point my dispatcher to the good ones.
He knows I will run hard and stay out if needed so no problems there(most times).

System pays 41.5 cents per mile on the 1st load,after that it goes up to 45.5 for the rest of time you're on the road.

Delay is $16.50 an hour after the usual 2 hour delay

Drop/Hook pays $35 flat rate

Plus you have the $1000/week guarantee for the slow weeks.

All and all it's a good fit for me,you can make good money(1000-1400/week depending how you run) and tank work is easy (IMO).

So there you have it,more later this weekend.

Good thing you dont! Been there 2 weeks and Im startin to see their true colors. But its the terminal I work out of. Langhorne, PA.

Just to clarify a few things for people reading this thread.

Here's a little background on me:
Started driving for Foodliner in August, 2005. By January of 2006, I was the top money earner in the Langhorne, PA terminal. I did local running, hitting New York twice a night, at $150 a pop. Even though I took 10 weeks off, 9 of which were not paid, in 2008, I still grossed $71,000.00 I would do my 10 runs to NY, and maybe 1 load every other Saturday. I was terminated by Foodliner in September of 2010. Within my 5 years there, I got an award for what they call a "PERFECT YEAR", the last 4 years in a row. I also had 5 years safe driving, having never so much as scratched a mirror on my truck, EVER!

First of all, DriverJoe is correct about not breaking the guarantee, in all cases except if you get put on one of their rare, high paying accounts. I was grossing over $1,800 a week, but I was 1 of only 3 drivers who were making more than the $1,000 a week guarantee. The other 2 drivers doing better than the guarantee were grossing around $1,100 a week. Breaking the guarantee is possible, so Driver Joe is not 100% correct, but unless you get lucky enough to get put on some special account, what he said is correct.

Dogals Right Foot's attitude about drivers not fitting in, being the reason they are not doing well, is an out and out false statement. Most of the drivers that I worked with were great, hard working men. They did everything that was asked of them, and never complained.For all their hard work and dedication, they were rewarded with being held down to making the Guarantee each week.

If you are wondering why Foodliner would terminate me, if I was as great of a driver as I say, well......
I got fired for what I wrote right here on this very website. I was talking about things going bad at Foodliner, and that I would have to start looking around for something else. I was heartbroken more than angry, since my time at Foodliner was the best 5 years I ever had in a truck. I posted words to that effect at about 9 Am, and got a phone call at 9 PM that same day, telling me to clean out my truck. I was fired.

I asked Frank DiStillio to point out a single word of what I wrote that was not true, and he could not. He said it was about my negative attitude toward the company, not if what I wrote was true or not.

The guy who ratted me out to Foodliner was named "HOGBOY" on this website. The way he wrote, and general phrases he used were amazingly similar to Dogals Right Foot. HogBoy was a company plant, put in here to debunk negative comments made about Foodliner. It seems to me that either HOGBOY is back, under a different name, or we have someone trained the same way, to pick up the ball where HOGBOY left it, to run with it.

If anyone doubts what I write here, I will give full disclosure. My Name is Jim Smith. I have hair down to my belt. Ask about me at the Langhorne Terminal, and they will remember me. Even a couple guys who I did not get along with, told me I was given a raw deal, but that's not the point. The point is that Foodliner will lure you in with the promise of big money, only to hold you back from making it later.

If anyone wants to say I didn't fit in, or didn't want to sleep in a truck, they are fools. If they want to challenge my work ethic, they are also fools. I was their most productive, highest paid driver when I was fired, all because I wrote openly and honestly about the company here on the Trucker's report. Even after I was fired, I didn't "CRY" about anything. I moved on to bigger and better things. I just don't want to see some new people get caught up in the lies and poor treatment they will be subject to, in most cases, at Foodliner.

I'm looking signing on with FL and working out of the Omaha / Blair, NE area.

Does anyone have an experience with the terminals in Nebraska?

I was told by the recruiter that drivers who are willing to stay out 3-4 weeks at a time are grossing $1400-1600 / week. Does that sound about right or is there a bit of exaggeration?

Also, how are their trucks equipped? Apu's? Inverters? Fridges?

Any info is appreciated
