Youre a wise one. Whose not to say Ive done that a time or two off inverter when wife is peacefully asleep. We kept a Mr Coffee behind us in that cabinet on the left.
Remember the swiftie outside the cab steering inside the window?D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
My common sense side says this accident had little to nothing to do with placing down a coffee cup.
We will see when the facts come out but my gut tells me he either fell asleep or more likely it had to do with a cell phone from what I witness going by me every day in the left lane.LoneRanger, Bud A., bulldog522002 and 11 others Thank this. -
I don't think my hands have ever been at 10 and 2.... left hand is usually somewhere around 8 and right is normally on top of the shifter (sometimes it rests in the general vicinity of 4).Flat Earth Trucker, Bud A., Bean Jr. and 8 others Thank this. -
Pray explain to me... 70 mph you need what? 350 feet to stop a semi on dry concrete in good weather loaded? Maybe down to about oh... 240ish with ABS braking full? Or even a little less with full Disk all around?
That takes oh... 8 seconds maybe a dosh less than that 6 seconds?
Once in a while I have had to make stops right now after comprehending with EYES FORWARD a problem not too far ahead. And I have in the past told stories about how I just about have to smash into a small SUV with three children in the back still at 31ish mph before I horsed her into the left lane at Akron. That took a few seconds but NO where near enough.
Coffee is rejected as BS on my end. SOmething else is the truth. Considering you need what? 450 feet to SEE a problem, react to the problem mentally, physically and another heartbeat or three for the airbraking to develop the braking power to make it happen.
I know this driver didnt see a #### thing. -
I’m in Michigan today, 14’ wide - ‘supposed’ to be doing permit speed of 50 mph.
At 59, I’m getting passed by a LOT of traffic. I’m taking the shoulder, because I can’t guarantee that high sided vehicles can even STAY IN THEIR LANE.
I lost count of truck drivers passing my load and escorts with face buried in cell phones, or just dumb looks on their face and no CB.
Hate Michigan drivers/permits with a passion.
Guarantee the guy was knee deep in the phone. -
Had to be, either that or this clown is totally brain dead.
I’ve been drinking coffee while driving my truck for years with nothing even close to resembling a near miss.Bud A., bulldog522002, Bean Jr. and 4 others Thank this. -

Well if the guy would read @x1Heavy posts about driving with the coffee on floor without lid and not spilling a drop, none of this may have ever happened.
