I think the difference is you were supposed to have the permit BEFORE you rolled into the scale. The law allows e-logs and must make provisions for the retrival of the information. Just guessing.

Could have been. It was on New Year's Day and I had left it at home. I said I could have it faxed since the one expired on December 31.

They said they knew I had one, but they allowed no one to use the fax.

I think that they were just being really picky. Not to long ago, went across a port of entry in I think Montana, and found out that my cab card exprired. She handed me the fax number, called permits in PHX, they faxed, she looked at it and said thank you and have a safe trip. No fine.

Twice in the last couple months I've had scale bosses wanting to see my Elogs screen. The main thing they were interested to see was the last 8 days tab and Summary tab. I showed them all the tabs and how to scroll around etc, they took to it like it was a very cool toy and handed it back.

OK so I download the Elogs ever few months and we are supposed to keep them x amount of years etc. what happens if my computer blows up, those logs are lost forever....

I had the same chat with my wife, and I convinced her to let me make hard copies... Just in case our computer bites the big one.

    Wow.
Is paper that expensive, or is she so controlling, that you would have to convince her to 'let' you print out a few pages?

That's kinda funny, when you really think about it.
    Well, maybe sad.

Easier...and cheaper...to download to a flash drive with a disc back up!

    Roadmedic Thanks this.

Na, she's a minimalist... Our living arrangement is going to be like living in a truck, small, only with a kitchen, and bathroom. We spend most of our lifes (before I started driving at least) outside rather than indoors. If fact, last summer we moved into a tent for a month in our front yard, while doing some light remodel to the rental we had... My wife is the best person in this world. I'm thankful for her everyday.

    Wilma and Moosetek13 Thank this.
