Question about bulk potatoes.

    i haul 49k bulk potatoes year round dry van summer ex reefer winter most places require 100 sqaure in vents in summer

    In a situation like this would the driver be wise to arrive at the shipper with the box already pulled down to several degrees above freezing so that the pre-cooled air in the trailer will pull some heat out of the product (without freezing it) once it's loaded?

    Wouldn't do any good, as they came off a conveyor in a farm field on a hot day. The box would be close to the outside temp by the time it was loaded.

    Ah ok, yeah that would change things. I assumed they were being loaded at a refrigerated warehouse. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
