Go with Celadon and you might want to pay your own way home.

Not every company leaves drivers out on the whim if they fail a drug test. Knight pays for you to go home if you come out to their school and fail the pre screen drug test (hair or urine).

A huge problem here is people getting on board with a trucking company with no $$$ in their pocket. Then they're 1000 mi from home again, with no $$$ in their pocket. You need to understand this is not a good position to be in. Plan ahead, have a way to get home if you wash out either in orientation or week 1 on the road. Some companies will get you a bus ticket, but not all of them.

The sad part is, that an awful lot of folks coming, (or trying to come,) into this industry don't have a pot to pee in, or a window to throw it out of. Of course a person needs some financial sense, at least enough to take care of yourself.

But realistically, how often have you been hit up from friends or relatives that just started a job, and are "broke right now, and pay day isn't until next Thursday, and they hold back a week, etc etc etc." Yeah, I've loaned, (and lost,) money to some folks like that over the years. Back in my younger, less pessimistic days. . .

Some people really are clueless as to how to manage money, and a lot of those folks never really learn how to do it. But it is essential for someone who is going to be out on the road, to have a few bucks where they can get to it in an emergency.
