I ran out of hours one time at a customer which was very strict about no parking on their property. I parked on their property anyway. Then sent a security guard to knock on my door 3 different times to move. I told him to stop bothering me and if he is serious call the cops. Short time later couple cop cars showed up and I explained to them I'm out of hours cannot legally move the truck 10 feet. They promised not to ticket me if I move my truck off the property to the supermarket across the road.

I got really tired all of a sudden one night some wheres between Memphis and Nashville. I crossed over a off ramp over to a nice wide on ramp and parked it. A state trooper was banging on the door 30 minutes later. I told him why I was there. He said to follow him for 10 minutes if I could safely do it. He led me to a old warehouse. He waved and drove off. Nice guy!

if you remember the troopers name you should write a "thank you" email/letter to the tn. dept of public safety and tell them of your positive encounter with trooper X. it could help him continue being a nice guy.

and yet, we have drivers who WANT elogs without the flexibility to "drive off of a lot" ...... something so simple and safe, but "its against the law"
well then, the law is wrong, dead wrong and anyone who is a driver and advocates submitting to such a ridiculous law should not be a truck driver

he should go into law enforcement, where you get paid to enforce stupid, irrational laws, simply because they are laws

Thomas Jefferson once debated, "Are men made for laws or laws made for men". Obviously, some drivers believe people are made to obey laws, no matter how ridiculous
