Hey guys I work for a frac company, been driving 2+ years and haven't been stopped yet. I just came to this company a couple of weeks ago and am not very familiar with a lot of their equipment and what shape it is in... The equipment I have driven has bEen pretty new and in good shape... And their mechanics are good about fixing whatever we put on the inspection reports.

that being said... During this Blitz... Do they just randomly stop any driver anywhere or is it at weigh stations. The route I will be driving doesn't pass a check station so I was just wondering.

Some areas will randomly pull you over but most inspections are conducted in existing weigh stations, seldom used "inspection areas", and rest areas. Keep your logs current, permits in neat presentable order, check your trailer registration, and just pre-trip your truck. The DOT already know what companies run a tight ship and which companies are flagrant violators. The blitz is nothing to be concerned about at all if you make a habit of crossing your T's and dotting your i's.

Some states seem to do more during the so called blitz than others. With many states, it is just business as usual. Texas has been rather active for a while now, even without the blitz. I have been inspected twice in Texas in recent months. The big thing is that it wastes the drivers time. You can count on losing about 45 minutes to an hour for them to do an inspection. That is time out of your work day. Give your equipment a good check and as long as you have your paperwork in order and up to date, you should not have a problem.

The fun thing I seen is the weigh station I pass every morning in MI, that opens at 7:00am (I usally pass about 6:50, but sometimes later and have to roll over the scales). Well that has been closed all week. :)

Inspections are typically random during the blitz. They aren't always at a coop. Sometimes a coop will be closed and a checkpoint will be set up a few miles down the road, just to catch truckers off guard. Indiana is infamous for this.
