I intended to just start with Werner,,stayed 11 yrs u till I retired in 2012. They are a forced dispatch company. You may have to wait for a regional or dedicated accnt that MIGHT suit your style.
When you are thru with company training, and have your own truck you might be tested.. My first load was from Omaha to Ma,Ct,NY,,,with a 5 stop load. I had never been past Chicago,,,about had a meltdown, no GPS or cell phone...but got it done...eventually as my skills and confidence grew. It didn't matter,,,,except east coast means grocery warehouses,,,lol. Good luck.

Did she have a special truck and a cat? I think we just met with the same recruit.
I heard some good and bad things about all companies but specifically with Werner it depends on what you're looking for. Ironically went for my pre-hire with them today. -
Recruiters for most companies are commission jobs. Their goals are to get you to orientation. After orientation you will never be able to find them again and the crew in orientation never heard of them.
Also lots of recruiters are third party. They are not Werner employees,,but just contractors to find drivers. -
i just quit werner june 2nd only way you will get home in less then 1 month is dollar general/family dollar accounts and you better be able to back like a pro

Im prettt sure that werner is like most companies. they put you in a slot that needs filled. if another slot opens up, you can bid on the slot you like and get it if you have the most seniority and best driving record of the people who want to switch. sometimes there's a lot of competition, sometimes there isnt. But once youre in a slot, they will probably expect you to stay there for a desicated period.
