It's best to wait until parked.

    The choice is yours.
    You do have free will.

But if you decide to take a nap and end up late, there may be consequences.

Probably best to plan your time well enough so you don't need a nap?

If your tired, you most definitely should park and take a nap, then get outside the truck for a few minutes and move around. You can take a nap at any time you want. You have 14 hours and a required 30 minute break.

Depending on what type of loads you're running, your lanes, etc, it's sometimes necessary to nap.

I've found that I can fit a nice 15 to 20 minute nap into a 30 minute break.

If you need more sleep than that, as is sometimes the case, I suggest you learn about the Split Sleeper Berth Provision, but, do NOT mess with it until you fully understand how it works, and make sure that your company's policy, and ELD, are set up for it, should you decide to use it.

I say include a nap in your trip plan. Hell, include 2 or 3, you might want a challenge.

    ;)

Yes I usually have to stop every Monday and nap. Coming off a weekend getting back into the night shift routine is tough. I give myself an extra 2 hours on my trip, good nap and I don't lose any time. Problem with naps is, they become addicting and you'll want to take one every day
