I can not to Canada currently. I am thinking on working on that for the sake of taking loads to AK.

Loads leaving Me to Alaska is paying 14 to 16k
Leaving NC to Ak is paying 20 to 23k
Leaving AR to AK. Is paying 12 yo 14 ish k.
This prices are before Landstars 35 percent. Most of these loads where hazmat weighing in under 32, 000.
For drivers that go to AK. If I haul a 20,000$ load to Ak. Landstar will get 7k. Leaving 13 on the bone. What other fees are there? Ferry, Customs, anything? Also can I switch from USA hours to Canada hours and then drive for the 16 hours?

You will have to get permits for the Yukon and state of Alaska. Repair shops are few and far between and fuel is expensive. What about the return? Are you prepared to deadhead back?
I hope it works out for you. I never did it in a truck but drove up from Washington state to Fairbanks in a car and it is a beautiful drive.

When you enter Canada you are required to run under Canada Federal hours of service regulations.
13 hours driving, 14 hours on duty within a 16 hur window. Once north of the 60th parallel you can switch to the north of 60 rules.

I recommend you call the provinces transportation departments that you will be traveling through to find out the permits required and costs. For the Yukon you buy your permit at the scale in Watson Lake.

Canadian HOS are an option, they aren’t required. All my time running back and forth to Canada I never switched to Canadian rules.

It is required to follow our HOS rules when here, our rules are just a little more relaxed than yours. I can think of the 34h reset vs ours is 36. You have to be running hard to break our 70 in 7 days when including a reset, rather than your 70 in 8 days. And the 24h off duty after working 14 days in a row. They would park you.

It may appear to be decent money, until you get there and realize there is zero coming back. Quite a long deadhead to anywhere from there. Post pictures if you make the trip, I'd like to do it someday, whether by truck or by little truck.

    Heres an example .
Little rock ,ar to anchorage ak -4000 miles
Gota deal with winter storms, single lane highway 1 ,closed roads, expensive fuel barely any mechanic shops .
Total paid $14,000.Gross after landstar take their cut $9,100 thats wooping $2.27/ mile not counting the 1000 to 2000 mile dead head
You can do better here in 48 states even in this bad market.

I just did the same math -

    Charlotte, NC to Anchorage,AK - then bounce empty to Seattle - 4,328 miles loaded - $13,000 - $3/mile loaded - then 2261 miles to Seattle for a total of 6,589 miles - $1.98/mile.

You are required to be in compliance, you aren’t required to switch your log to run Canadian HOS. I should’ve worded my reply better. I never switched mine even if I was up there for a couple days because then I knew I was legal when I crossed back into the states.
