all i can say is, this ain't cool.
they WILL DEMAND the air fare money back, or simply deduct that from his last pay.
then they can be prinks and highly mess with his DAC, in more ways than one.
good luck to the 2 of you, find employment at a job like flipping burgers or cleaning toilets. that way, you can both be home and enjoy each others company.

Don't say the word "quit". Just tell them it is taking longer than expected to clean up this at home emergency. String them along like a bad creditor trying to guilt trip you into paying your past debts lol. Eventually they will get the hint.

in fact, i also shampooed carpets and washed/waxed and buffed floors, dropped down and cleaned the fluorescent lights in the ceilings, all in office buildings of course.
when i was younger, i also worked as a security guard, and donut maker, and window washer. all at various times, going to a 2 year auto mechanics program when i was a mere teen...
oh yeah, one janitorial job i had was at Newport Creamery maybe @Puppage can recall that company, and i moved up to fry cook, for morning breakfasts
so, yeah, i can say that...
i am WAY OLDER than most of YOU here, i can assure you that i did jobs, not even the foreigners will take nowadays...that everyone cries about them taking jobs away from Americans... -

Sounds like good, hard, honest work to me.
I respect anyone... ANYONE.. that rolls up their sleeves and goes and gets it.
Sit around and whine?
No mercy. -
Yeah I'm 63 and worked for pops cleaned plenty toilets and did the usual buffing, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows etc. It taught me that if you don't own the business you spend a lot of time cleaning ####.

Once I as delivering to a Walmart and everything going smoothly. Another driver came rushing into the warehouse looking distraught and said he needs to get unloaded immediately, even though his appointment is a day later. He said his brother was in a horrific car wreck and is going to die. All the family members have been called to return home and see him one last time.
The supervisor looked skeptical, but relented and unloaded him a day early.
Later that day, I was on my way and stopped in a truck stop. There the driver was, playing video games in the drivers lounge.Lepton1, jammer910Z, scottied67 and 4 others Thank this. -
many times, i'd carry on a conversation. i NEVER look down to the lower paid people, as i was there a time or 2. and yes, it is respectable work, however, there are as we know, snobs, that look the other way.
jammer910Z and InTooDeep Thank this. -
DAC DAC DAC jeez I'm really getting sick and tired of all this back and forth about DAC . Hireright maintains a database that helps carriers more easily comply with FMCSA regulations. It does not matter if a company uses DAC or not. FMCSA regulations MANDATE as a part of the hiring process certain information about your history be verified and a driver file be maintained and updated every year. If you quit a job you have did just that, you quit. If DAC does not have the info your new company will have to check that gap by making a request directly to your old company for the info. Stop worrying about DAC. Jeez I'm really starting to wish the admins would add DAC to the forums censor list.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
