Im gonna just jump right to it, do you guys ever regret getting hitched? Im gettin to an age where my old lady is dropping serious hints and I definitely wanna do right by her. But sometimes when I look at my single friend living it up I do miss the old days, not having to constantly explain myself or worry about feelings, planning events with both sides of the family. I’m OTR cleaning up my DAC and it seems selfish to keep her waiting in limbo while I get safe driving time under my belt.Divorce rates are rising every year and I’ve literally had my Godfather tell me to NEVER get married at least in Texas, his ex took him for about 1.5 mil. What do you guys think should I do? Go with my heart and hope for the best or be a single road dog save and look for a woman after I get off the road?

How much you going to owe if you divorce.
Purplepete90, Bean Jr. and tscottme Thank this. -
Does she function well when you’re not there? Is she able to problem solve for herself? Are the bills paid on time and the house kept up? Does she complain about you being otr?

2) do not use the divorce rate as an excuse
3) you never have to explain anything, you "talk" things over, as she will be concerned for the home buget, which frankly, women are better at that, then us guys.
4) as far as not getting married in Texas, many states have the divorce laws that everything is split 50/50
5) if you continue to look at your friend, who by the way is still single, you'll be 80 years old........and still single yourself.
6) stop looking for excuses.truckerwife21, okiedokie, Bean Jr. and 16 others Thank this. -
My first marriage didn't last because of immaturity, drugs, booze and women.
My second is going strong approaching 34 years due to maturity, no drugs, no booze and no women. Best thing I ever did.Dino soar, okiedokie, FerrissWheel and 14 others Thank this. -

You two should have a sitdown, maybe with some trusted others or both parents/trusted others are alive.
Ask each other, “If it came to it, would I give my life to save this person.”
If the answer is “No.” it’ll never work.
But you can’t walk a mile in someone else’s shoe.Dino soar, WrightTrucker33, Black_Yeshua and 2 others Thank this.
