Quit smoking: Chantix,patches,vaping,cold turkey

but ehh i did never see a cold turkey!!!!

Yes it does get better. But I dont think it ever totally goes away, the urges that is. After 6 years I still have occassional urges to have a cigarette.

 

Dont think I would go as far as to say that Nicotine addiction is like no other. I grew up in the drug influenced 60's, and watched many of my friends and family with drug addiction. Dont know which is worst, but I tend to place them on a equal par.
I dont see why the government should outlaw nicotine, smoking, or cigarettes. There is free will, and one does not need to use it, but they chose to, myself included. The cigarette companies did not force anyone to use its product. We chose to, knowing full well that it was addictive and potentially cancer hazard. I knew that when I started, and so did everyone else, even though they dont chose to admit it. So you cannot penalize,although the government does, the cigarette companies for making, selling a legal product. Just my two cents.

 

It is hard to quit while driving, I just came back from home time on Friday after a week off for Thanksgiving. I went cold turkey the entire week and had no withdrawal, just a couple of urges for a cigarette, but nothing major. I thought this is awesome, I can give this #### up for good. Got back in my truck and was smoking again by the end of the day.

 

it says "should not",not "will not". Funny, I had no problem keeping a class 2 flight physical while I took it.

 

I call complete bullspit by FMCSA's opinion on the side effects of Chantix in relation to operating a commercial vehicle safely. When we were doing linehauls/convoys in Iraq, we had more people QUIT smoking using Chantix than any other method. We still had everyone doing their jobs just fine without any incidents.
