I forgot to mention I am part of a husband wife team. Forgot this thread was for R and L system driver. Their rate is lower. About 320 for 530. That is what our meet driver from Dallas gets. He is system linehul daycab and goes home daily.

i've found that this is actually a very accurate way to judge how good a company is though.
POST YO' CHECKS.McUzi Thanks this. -
I know this is about 8 months late but RL pays nowhere near 70cpm for regular linehaul drivers. Maybe they do for teams. RL is near the bottom of the LTL carriers in pay..Their draw is home every night for all drivers and newer equipment.
-
She did say she was a team. Wife and I also team at RL. The solos get about 55 cpm. I say about because they pay by the run. The driver we met got 330 for his 580 mile turn. It also varies by terminal.
-
In my initial post I wasnt talking about teams, so I dont know where she got the idea and claim I was wrong on pay. I was right. Should pretty much be assumed when we are talking about pay we are refering to solo drivers also specifically mentioning otherwise.

Bumping this thread for more info. Thinking of joining R+L as a solo OTR driver. Anybody here doing this job?
-
Just ask @jtaran06Texas_hwy_287 and John Joel Glanton Thank this.

I did team but I ran across a lot of solo sleeper drivers. Trucks are decent. You will get a old team truck. Couple years old. Should run 70-75. All terminal to terminal drop and hook. They had more freight than drivers so can stay more busy than you want. They always told me they grossed between 1500-2000 week. Sleep in truck no hotel. The Shadow, Texas_hwy_287 and John Joel Glanton Thank this.

Quick update for anyone following this. R+L said they will train new CDL school graduates on local positions either line haul or pickup and delivery, but OTR systems drivers must have one year experience.MaxzRig Thanks this.

According to the recent ads, Feb. 2022, they're only requiring 8 mos. exp. for Dry Van now.
John Joel Glanton Thanks this.
