Tektronix 7L12 100 kHz - 1.8 GHz Spectrum Analyzer plug-in fits that mainframe.

I've wasted $40 with 'hillbilly ' at the hook in Joplin - and had the Galaxy 77 rescued by Sambo at Brompton, AL -

What is your opinion of his work?

Don't you mean the technicians if the wack and hack guys weren't out here the real techs that are out here would lose a lot of $$$ fixing those hack jobs..... but on the other end the customers have to figure out know realize they've been hacked whacked. ----- by Jack. The points valid !!!!!!

Cool story. Getting my first cb on Saturday. Cobra 29 chrome edition. This gives me hope that the stock setup on my Mack could work before I go out and buy a new antenna setup too. We will see.

I have the Cobra 29 ltd chrome, bought it at loves for $ 119.99 plus $ 20.00 mail in rebate, and like a typical 29 it is a good radio. When I first used it I thought it wasnt receiving well because it is so quiet, not much static at all, but I had the receive checked out and aligned and it is right on. I do alot of night driving and the blue meter light had too much glare so I had it changed to a different color and also the talkback volume is really low so I had that adjusted, and on the transmit all that has been done is turn up modulation to 100%. With the Ranger sra 198 or polamar sl41 it is loud and clear and with stock Volvo antenna setup 6 to 10 miles is normal.

Quick question for the radio professors in the house. If I find that Harold spread the coils at the back of my 955, would it be possible for me to push them back into their original shape? Or should I take it back to him and demand he do it right? I haven't opened the radio to see, just wondering.

If it works good, I wouldn't worry about it.
