Walmart Transportation has their own set of books. Their profitability is based on themselves. This is why, even if WM the parent company may have down profits, it does not directly affect Walmart Transportation.

People always want to equate Walmart, the retail side, with Walmart Transportation. They are two individual companies under a corporate umbrella.

The Walmart Express stores may not have actually lost money. If they did not make as much money as Walmart could make reallocating that investment elsewhere, then they have a fiduciary responsibility to put that investment where it will make the most money. That is what publicly held companies have to do, to increase shareholder (the owners) value.

So, you wonder why a new driver should get a company wide raise. It is all about cost to retain drivers. Walmart invests a large amount of money in getting and training a new driver. They want to keep their new drivers, and you do that by making them happy. There is a good reason why Walmart Transportations actual turnover is so very low. The vast majority of drivers leaving is from retirement, and most who work there say it will be their last job.

This forum is for Wal-Mart drivers and others that are interested in driving for Wal-Mart. There are several threads in the Politics Forum with 'spirited' discussions for those of you interested in criticizing Wal-Mart for business practices. Feel free to go to that forum if you wish to continue that particular line of discussion. But, please don't bring it into this forum so that we can leave the Wal-Mart drivers out of it.

Just to be sure we're clear:

If you're not interested in driving for Wal-Mart and only wish to criticize the corporation's business practices, you need to skip the threads in this forum.

It's okay. Let them hate. Probably upset they will never meet the qualifications to become apart of Wal-Mart's private fleet.
