I signed up with the third party that has about 7,600 drivers, and I get pulled every year so it seems at the same time of the year.
I got a notification I need to take another test. I'm in the waiting room with a lot of people doing the same thing on Saturday.
It annoys me. I might move somewhere else. Maybe OOIDA does the RANDOM POOL too. With more truck drivers on their hands, the chance to be picked out is slim. I don't mind to be picked from time to time. But it looks like it's something that happens on a regular basis with the third party I'm with. I could be home now. But I'm here...

Ooida’s consortium is CMCI,
Usually once, maybe twice/year you’ll get pulled, once when renew/getting it set up, once throughout the year, always been on a weekday, not weekendBoondock Thanks this. -
I’ve been driving just shy of 4 years, company driver, been picked 5 times. Seems ridiculous. It’s annoying because you get a little nervous every time you take one of these because stuff does go wrong. I’ve never done drugs, as in really never. But each time I get pulled I start reading horror stories of drivers having their careers ended by a bad test.

You have a 50% chance to get pulled every year. Is it really surprising you get pulled in? You will have the same 50% chance no matter where you go.
Boondock, Beaver9 and brian991219 Thank this. -
I'm in my 3rd year with my company and been popped twice. My probability is 75 percent. That's because the consortium knows I'm black. It's a conspiracy man.

LolHonestly I think if there is some kind of conspiracy, I think the drivers they absolutely know will test negative, get tested more frequently. Companies these days probably don’t want to lose a driver over weed. Especially if they were doing it like on their days off or something. I never touched the stuff, but it’s becoming about as common as alcohol.Dino soar, Boondock, ProfessionalNoticer and 3 others Thank this.

Oh yeah lol....on a serious note, I did read somewhere in which they wanted to ramp up testing more. I can't remember the exact numbers but an example would be if companies were testing 10 percent of the fleet, they'd up it to like 15 percent.Boondock Thanks this.

Companies have to test the equivalent of 50% of their drivers every year. It was down to 25% for a couple years but too many positives caused the FMCSA to go back to the 50%. For drugs. 10% for alcohol.wis bang, Boondock, Beaver9 and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm glad that you cleared that up for me.....I'll tell you what, that'll explain Lennythedriver's test frequency lolBoondock Thanks this.
