My golden retriever is afraid of his own shadow... But he's normally well behaved now that he's old.

I don't even wanna begin to say what I did on the 4th. Let's just say I'm glad I wasn't hospitalized or arrested lol.

Yes YRC line haul works 24/7. You can choose to book off or work. They only allow a certain amount to book off. Now if you work on the holiday or into a holiday you get paid 12 hours instead of 8. And what you made for mileage and all so its a good way to make 400 dollars

its because of the new contract they voted in allowing outside carriers to pull their freight. YRC has that as well now

Finally have some time off. I was getting screwed all of last week. I need a reset. i would have been down to my last 5 hours had I worked anymore. Paycheck should be nice though. Time to take my gf out on another hot date... or find someone competent to fix my tyre alignment. Don't go to Big-O tires.

At UPS we seen this everyday. Sure we was Peed off seeing scabs , But on the flip side. UPS has a huge volume and no way any of us could handle that extra volume. We was already swamped with work.

I never witnessed a scab pulling ABF equipment, no doubt it exist. This makes me mad, we don't have high volume like UPS.

I wouldn't call them scabs as they aren't crossing a picket line. But because of all the subcontractors I had a horrible run which consisted of being a glorified dock worker. Otherwise I could've had better runs and not using cheap labor. Heck drivers were sitting home at other places or being forced to work the dock instead. If they got rid of the subcontracting then it would be a better place to work

Whatever you want to call it, Don't damage our older then moses equipment with high turnover company. Werner will never take our local accounts. When they start buying day cabs and single screws then i'm worried

No offense Shagmeister, but I cannot understand the union mentality of calling non-union carriers scab. They were not the ones who negotiated the contract to pull the freight. They are just out there to make a dollar to run freight just like the rest of us freight jockeys..and they do it for cheaper than a union guy..Nothing wrong with getting paid more as that's what we all want.

Same crap happens on the other board I frequent..I thought the Teamsters were for the working man, or is that just if you are a part of the brotherhood?
Wasn't a personal attack but just a trend I see among union folks.

Yea i didn't want to sound to abrasive, I was on the other side before and just did my job. Took in consideration the other carrier drivers are just being paid what to do like the rest of us.

If i offended anyone, Tough crap. I toned it down best i could. :biggrin_25523:

I hate bottom feeder employers, The drivers are my brothers, these folks don't set out each day trying to screw another driver, The companies however duke it out and fight for whatever freight.

I'm still 50/50 about the union. no ones pet and when steward ask whats up, I tell him. But not crying like a sissy like many others.

I dont mind contractors as long as they are given the hard/tough deliveries leaving me the easy stuff. I hate challenges
