Was he hung up or just stopped waiting for a break in traffic?

Landing gear got stuck. Got hit by one of the only two trains that pass through town each day.

That particular area is a little dicey. There have been quite a few instances of this happening over the years. There are also some other dicey spots in Harlem where you have to make sure you pay attention to the signs. Everyone makes mistakes, unfortunately. I hope the driver lands on his feet. No reason to roast the guy if he doesn’t have a habit of making bad choices.

It's a weird area. I was off that day and it could have easily been me running that same route. I've been through Harlem several times and found myself in the "No truck zone".

Thank you for your response. People make mistakes and that area is just easy to mess up on.

We all make mistakes in our career and life. I agree that we don’t need to roast him. Hopefully he’ll have a job to come back to.

Working under the NMFA the driver will be allowed to work the dock if he loses his CDL.

20210422_201257.jpg I got this dispatcher. Not gonna lie, he is the salt of the earth. He is extremely disciplined on SMS which makes this worth sharing.

Today, I had one of those rare residential deliveries where I say "no do." The driveway was loose gravel at a steep angle. Even if I made it to his garage, I'd have shredded his driveway to pieces.

Then it came to me: Why can I not back up that driveway? Because auto trans, intrusive traction control and a whole bunch of other crap that makes the truck think it knows how to drive better than I do. Give me a straight 10 and a TCS that actually shuts off when you tell it to, and I'd have flown up there like a mountain goat.

This is the hidden cost of refusing to pay for talent. When you spec your trucks for the lowest common denominator, you're actually hobbling the professional who knows what the hell to do!!

OK, rant over--what do I know, I'm just a truck driver.
