Man I was on night linehaul for 6 years. Got on day linehaul for a few weeks. Hated it. Driving long distances during the day seems like you’re going 30 mph. I did not like it. Still happy as a city driver now with less pay and I still can’t back into a dock to save my life LOL

Hooking them is just building a set of doubles, then adding another dolly and trailer to the front. Driving them is similar, but it can get out of hand very easily. Any sudden movement you make up front will be amplified at the rear and takes longer to get it back in line. Also worth noting it takes a bit longer for air to get through the system. If you’re at a stoplight, you can’t just stomp on the accelerator and go when the light turns green, because there will still be air in the service line at the rear for 5-10 seconds after you let off the brakes.

Road driver by me comes in Saturday morning and leaves his set hooked. Then he comes in Sunday in his pajamas and puts the trailers to the door. It’s all on camera WTF

People do crazy things me included.
Preforming work off the clock could be your final day of employment if you were to have a accident.
Falsifying your logs if you were not signed in to your ELD.

Any of you city guys drive a newer Kenworth? Man I’m not taking one again. That front bumper sits way too low for city work. Can’t even fit a beer can under there.

At least you get a choice! Some of the city guys at my barn are rolling around in twin screws because those are the only trucks left for the later AM starts.

My usual truck went in for service so it was either that twin screw KW or the #1 road drivers tractor that no one else drives. I didn’t want to get his truck all muddy on my city route plus he’s a nice guy and I respect his 27 years running road.
