Ah yes, the "security threat assessment". Total ######## money grab. Terrorists are not gonna get CDLs and hazmat endorsements, they will just use an AK47 to hijack a truck with hazmat and do their dirty deeds, but I have to pay to be fingerprinted to deliver paint.

I've thankfully never had a problem and I delivered beer in some neighborhoods that well I wouldn't bother to walk around at night time in. During the day they were tolerable, no bargain, but tolerable. However, thankfully never had a problem.
Most of the places I go to now are pretty decent, as far as stuff goes if someone wants to steal a case of mayo well go ahead there's two kinds of mayo light duty and extra heavy duty all the greasy spoon places buy the extra heavy duty mayo so make sure that's the case of mayo your stealing. A case of may is roughly 4 1 gallon jugs it's pretty heavy hard to run and walk far with.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

I wouldn't mention how I approach a subject like that, on a forum where folks know who I work for, and (I'm quite certain) is frequented by both management types from every trucking outfit there is, but law enforcement as well. Too many eyes, ears, and mouths. My company has a no weapons at all anywhere policy. Basically, if you're wearing company logos, on company property, or in a company vehicle, you're not to defend yourself.
Now when I had my own truck, I had a Mossberg 500 with a pistol grip in a fairly nondescript sleeve on the back of the passenger seat. I think the new Shockwave and it's Remington Tac-14 cousin would do wonderfully in a similar role.Bob Dobalina, G13Tomcat and road_runner Thank this. -
With our tiny barn, every personal vehicle (all four of them) have some kind of weapon in their passenger seat (that I've noticed). I think I am the only one that has an AR in my backseat. Most everyone else has a bolt action rifle or some kind of .308.
I personal carry a 9mm in a highly concealed area. I am ok with losing my job if I have to use it. Its a good trade off to having my pregnant wife lose her husband.Gearjammin' Penguin, misterG, JPenn and 3 others Thank this. -

Sat in some construction on 70 somewhere around Dayton. And i learned the hard way one hotel right off the intersate too tired to remember. That mejiers is on the other side of highway. Went searching down the main drag didn't find any eventually pulled into a bp on outside of town. @Bob Dobalina saw a Dayton truck thought it might be you. Deff was off my permitted route.
Being permitted over gross already makes me a target but they also handed me something that should be going to the bone yard not being revived. I'll post pics later i have to go the long way down to denton tx. Long day ahead 1000 mi left and 60mph pete with a tiny 100 gal tank. Someone said have my ducks in a row for st Louis coop then its game on.
I love how everyone says you need big power if your gon be around 80 all the time. Were just shy of 100k with the tri-axle pumps and we have 425hp and a friggen 8ll. Oilfield used to be all big yellow motors now its red since cat got out.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
