If you're near northern California, I'll take a couple hundred pounds.

I had a load refused a few weeks ago, contacted the broker and got paid for the return trip to the shipper as well.

Talk to the company you work for, or the broker.
See what they want done. And remember, it's a new load so charge accordingly.

I had one pallet of ketchup rejected at grocery DC. they said wrong item was shipped. Instead of retail packaging it had institutional packaging. The broker told me to throw a way. I took it home and gave it to my neighborhood people and friends )) ..
It depends what kind of load was rejected. if it is perishable it will be hard to find new buyer..

Most of the time they told me to throw away the meat that was rejected, a call to the local food bank was made to notify them that food was about to be thrown in the trash and they could dig it out if they want, even pulled up to a homeless camp and gave some to them. But that is putting liability on yourself in case the meat has gone bad.

I used to pull Bar S loads and if there was any rejection; I usually would have to take pictures of the rejected product, destroy said product, throw it away, take picture of said product in a dumpster and send those pictures in.

The largest rejection I had was 12lbs of Bar S bacon that had to be destroyed.
