Recent grad : Eyeing Melton or Swift

Tarping doesn’t take that long when you get used to it, Sometimes when it was 110 outside i’d tarp the back then get a bottle of water then finish the front.

More you do it, faster you get.

 

Yeah, I love Florida. Wish I still lived there.

 

Are you North of I-4 or South of I-4?

Melton and Swift Refrigerated are both ok, but there's other choices to compare with.

 

Some companies don't hire South of I-4

 

Melton will absolutely suck, for a flatbedder. They don’t have equipment that caters to the flatbed driver; it just gets the job done for the least expenditure. When you’re having to tarp a coil with a 24’X24’ tarp, you’ll understand. No tarp boxes on the trailer; your tarps are strapped to the deck and always wet. There’s more, but, not going through it all.

Florida is terrible for flatbed. You need to focus on Florida-centric companies; not just a company who will hire you.

 

I am considering both of these companies also, so following this thread for sure.
