recommendations

Hi, I have had my cdl for about 3 years now. Only driven about 20 months worth though. The last year I've taken off for school, but money is gone so I'm looking to get back into driving. My address is near Orlando, Florida, but I think I'm going to move up to Kalamazoo, Michigan so I can get instate tuition when i go back to school. I'm 28 years old. I used to work for Transport America and I think they'd rehire me. I liked them, but would like to see out west, and they only had me running east of I35, mostly northeast, midwest. I'm looking into Heyl. I would like OTR, van, willing to do reefer, have doubles/triples and tanker endorsements, but not hazmat, though willing to get it. Hometime isn't really an issue for me, just when i request it, i want those days off, more than likely. Like i'll only request off if i have something going on. My biggest concern is being able to stop if I feel unsafe driving. That was a big thing I like about TA, if i said i needed to stop for safety reasons, I was able to. I had an accident in november 2013, but somehow got reported twice. I had 2 more sometime around june/july/august 2014. No tickets, injuries etc., but know those might be an issue. :/ I have a ticket from march 2011 in my personal vehicle, but thats it. none in a CMV. No duis, felonies etc. Also, I'm looking to start middle of December, beginning of january. Don't know how much hiring happens in that time period. I could probably hold off a few weeks, but need something asap.
tl;dr: need something by end of jan, otr, van. 20 months exp. last year off. out of orlando or kalamazoo mi. but don't care about hometime.

 

first one, making right turn in philadelphia, side of trailer hit a parked car, broke taillight. 2nd, was setting up to back into a dock and hit a fence pole. 3rd was backing in and scraped the trailer next to me

 

ok thanks for the companies, i'll try and check things out this week. see what happens. Im really thinking im moving up to michigan tho.
Guess the other big question is how likely are companies to be hiring in the time period im looking? end of dec-january
