I think one part of the problem is we usually have good reason not to trust shippers 100% to properly precool their loads, load correctly and take pulp temps with a calibrated thermometer and on the other hand we dont usually get data about temps until we reach the receiver....and theres the receiver who also might not let us on their dock and can partially or fully reject based on whatever criteria they want...including pulp temps...were there thermometers calibrated? No idea. We could request a USDA inspection but itd kill our profit making power by costing us time...not sure the remedy[/QUOTE]

You haul that cali cheese to WI, then haul it back, it's suddenly worth more because it is now WI cheese.

One of our former memers told how it worked, and fluid milk switched for manufacturing was 'qualified' by shipping it, sometimes round trip, sometimes by offsetting loads.

Honey, the same way, as nearly as I can tell, except that can be, and is, worldwide. These are only the commodities I have heard of, probably are many more.

Potatoes are funny to. Most Idaho potatoes are really born in Wisconsin or South Dakota.

Yeah the big products actually produced here in Idaho are milk, sugar beets, and hay. Who knew.
