Sometimes you have to think about the long run. When the economy slows down, what do people still buy when they are buying nothing else? Meaning, food and fuel, people need to eat.
Reefer or flatbed career?

I've done both, flatbed is better unless you hate your life, then by all means try something else. Instead of reefer though why not tanker?

I always get a kick out of it when somebody says people gotta eat and the reefer freight has to move so that's a sure way to stay busy. Yeah, right. Meanwhile there's 50 reefer loads and 300 empty reefer trucks available. Reefers, vans, flats, tankers it's all the same...

We don't see too many of their trucks. We do see a few now and then. Little Rock is not that big for trucking. Used to be the old Marybelene, railroad, north little rock food section, some medicine and so on. But it's not a busy destination.
What it is however rather is a common path to and from loading in the west/south and delivering to the east. I first came into Arkansas in the early 90's and used the old 64 to bypass the LR Traffic and the then LEO enforcement. 64 had it's own enforcement locally and DOT then but left me alone most of the time when it was a little two lane.
Jonesboro and Fayetteville would be the other parts of the state where it's really busy on trucks. And there are huge fish pans in Lonoke area. Miles of them along with Remington Arms.
We do have a pretty good economy, mostly military, contracted for military or government positions. And some wildlife related positions which supports the number one activity in the state. Hunting and fishing.asphaltreptile311 Thanks this.
