I haven't pulled a reefer in several years and thinking about getting out of flat bedding. I'm starting to feel a little shoulder pain and Id like something a little more less physically exhausting LOL. What is the average pay per mile for a driver with about 5 years experience? I'm in metro Atlanta. Considering several reefer companies that are W-2 not 1099. One company in particular is Trucking proz out of Wisconsin. If you drive 11,000 miles a month you get paid 63 cents a mile, if you drive 12,000 miles per month you get 66 cents per mile. Just curious what people making now pulling reefer

If you switch to reefer--you are simply swapping a little shoulder pain....for A LOOOOT more pain--where you sit.
Been there, done that.....

The norm these days seems to be between .55-.65cpm. I've done alright at a .58cpm base. Grossed $74,500 with plenty of home time.

Just like your “Pigeon” thread, you’re looking at a company I’ve never heard of. There’s no way I’d go looking toward an unknown, especially ~800mi away. You’re going to be at the carrier’s mercy, again.
I think, a better angle would be to find what reefer companies have locations in ATL. And, don’t forget the linehaul opportunities with Sysco, US Foods, Walmart, and any other distributor you can think of.
My favorite past employer is Dot Foods. Their no-touch drivers run linehauls, with occasional deliveries. But, with deliveries, the lumper service is already pre-arranged and payment is done internally. Plus, Dot gets priority delivery at many places, like Sysco. They’ve added a location in Jackson, GA, which runs out of the Vidalia DC. The folks in Vidalia are super-nice. But, the bulk is going to be DC-to-DC and trailer swaps with other drivers.

If your driving and criminal backgrounds are both clean (and you can pass a drug screen)--there's no reason why any reefer carrier should give you the "blow off".
Try to get on with either of these two carriers....if you're not successful with either one...then let the Forum know:

Look, the last several years of my life have been a mess, including multiple jobs. I applied to one of the most highly touted companies on this forum. Within 2hrs, they called. I decided I wasn’t going to settle in that area, afterall, and was moving back toward home. The recruiter, then, told me to call her when I get back here and she’d put me to work out of their location, up here. Ultimately, I took another job, which I also doubted myself on.
My point is, when doubting one’s self, there’s always another fish looking for that hook. Keep casting. You may not catch one today. But, there will be tomorrow. Be confident of that.Space Truckin, ibcalm19, lual and 2 others Thank this. -

Relatively new carrier..safety scores..eh.
Doubtful you’ll see the miles for the premium pay..you’ll burn up most of your time sitting..
In today’s climate I would pass on driving for a new company, and imo grew too fast.Another Canadian driver and ducnut Thank this. -
