I don't think any of us get treated golden none of us should expect to be. But I honestly feel sorry for a lot of the reefer ghys out there. Get treated worse than 10 day old dog crap and are still expected to bust butt and get the load there on time. Y'all make good money but the treatment isn't worth the money.

As for the OP's ? 2.00/running mile is doable. However you will probably want to be at at least 2.10/mile. Every penny adds up at the end of the year. And its getting to be a struggle at 2.00/mile. For me to run a reefer own trailer and all is want to be around 2.25/mile to feel safe. That's running not loaded. take everything into consideration before making the jump. Good luck partner.

You're welcome. I know a few long time reefer drivers. You may consider PMing rollover he's a long time reefer driver than can give you the scoop on it. Also I know MNdriver is currently running a reefer he can probably help you out with rates and give you some better advise and some help. Good luck with everything.

I was curious how our reefer was doing after reading this thread so I pulled the paperwork today. Here is what I came up with. From 11/06/12 - 07/06/12. Roughly 3 quarters of the year (what was in the drawer at the time). First off total miles including through the house and back out averaged to 2.15/mile paid. About 2229 miles per week average. With revenue including base rate, fsc and also tonu - since we may have d/h towards those - being an average of $4792 weekly. Detention, unloading, washouts or any other accessorial charges were not included. Lanes were east of the Mississippi and no NY or northeast. Based out of WI. One thing to note is that the trailer is a 48' and there were some 53' loads that may have payed well that we were not able to do. This is also a company driver that gets home weekly, whereas an O/O might be able to choose to stay out longer for the right rate. Hope that helps a bit.
