Both brands make a multitude of units depending on application--and Both make units that do very well--comparing one type of TK to a different type Carrier--is about the same as comparing the pulling power of a new 450hp paccar to a 6nz 625hp w/heavy haul pkg--
and don't forget the wagon the unit is mounted to--this has as much to do with how well temp will be held--how quick it gets to temp and how much fuel u burn----Lots and lots of variables

From my experience at Young Guns those onions were probably 90 degrees when loaded but its unlikely that is causing a coolant alarm. The only time I got that code on the carrier I used to own was when the water pump went out. Not an expensive (relatively) fix and fairly quick.

OTE="RedForeman, post: 3358236, member: 59766"]Thanks for the genius advice. Since I'm not paying your claims, set yours however you want.

Now next time you're running a +50º produce load on cycle, check your outlet temp about 20-30 minutes after you shut the doors. Not the big numbers on the display. You have to go into the data function to see that one. My 10 yr old Carrier with 18k hours on it will be approaching zero already. Do the same check in continuous run and the outlet temp will only drop to return temp minus about 15º, and stop dropping around 3º below the setpoint.

That's also known as "fresh protection" logic. Outlet temp is adjusted by the controller to the difference between outlet and inlet temp when initially cooling down on continuous mode (versus shooting for an absolute setting on cycle). It also means I don't have to pull over every hour and dial the temp down a few degrees. The reefer does that gradual outlet temp reduction automatically. If you're still doing that with a reefer that's less than 10 years old, you might want to check your settings and maybe save yourself some stops. If you only want a 7-10º drop when cooling, you can probably change that setting or have a dealer do it if it's not in the driver settings.[/QUOTE]

You're exactly right. ..on cycle mode, the supply air comes out UN REGULATED....as the unit tries to bring the temp on the return sensor back down to stepping......the problem gets worse when your temp settings are like 36degrees. ....with a delicate product like green leaf lettuce. ...it won't take much from the cycle sentry air blast to get you a top freeze claim.UOTE="'olhand, post: 3363035, member: 58476"]Both brands make a multitude of units depending on application--and Both make units that do very well--comparing one type of TK to a different type Carrier--is about the same as comparing the pulling power of a new 450hp paccar to a 6nz 625hp w/heavy haul pkg--

If my ultimate 53 is showing low oil pressure is that mean the oil preasure sending unit is bad. I checked the oil and it's full of oil or is it to cold at -2 degrees , that the oil is to stiff. I have synthetic 15- 40 in there

If it's frozen you take that box all the way down to -35 or whatever it is before they load it. That way it WILL stay frozen.

Remember Reefers maintain temp but can never ever pull product that is now warming up. Once the product starts requiring a calorie gain or loss in heat values, your reefer unit is not a blast furance. If it'd dough you will see -20-10-5-0 5 10 20 and the phone or qualcomm will start pestering you with a half pissed off and half scared to death dispatcher goobling unable to either yell or cry due to the pending loss of a million dollars figuratively speaking.

Fortunately winter time is one of the greatest friends of perishable. If you can keep a careful eye on that temp.

Is it running though, and just showing low oil pressure...... If it's running, put it on continuous to keep that oil warm........ Always keep a spare oil pressure sensor plug.....real easy to change......saves a road call or trip to Carrier dealer.
