Thank you...yes I have seen drivers in my company just abandon trucks/loads, no notice or anything. Some of these drivers either don't know what a DAC is or just don't care. I'm going to be home tomorrow and was supposed to be home for the weekend, but dispatch called this afternoon and asked if I could do an overbite run from PA to CT Saturday night because a driver abandoned the load at the yard and just left. This was all after I gave my notice, but they have been good to me and I don't believe in burning bridges. This driver was also a guy who the owner fronted over $1000 to when he first hired on because he had a sob story about needing money, and this is how he repays him. Good luck and keep us updated on how you make out!
Independent contractor. I am doing a lease purchase and will be running on the Schneider Choice board.
wow, no kidding, yeah what a way to repay a kind gesture! I`m actually driving for my former employer tomorrow just to help them out one last time before I leave Sunday. I loved working there, just was not enough money and next to no benefits. Thank you and I will keep you updated. You do the same
Oh, you are already driving?? Then you can disregard most of my info, since you've already been through it lol.
Oh I`m sorry for the confusion, I was a bus driver, lol. I have never worked for a trucking company before.
Wow, I don't think there is any level of stress running OTR that you'll encounter that could be worse than a bus full of kids!
I`ve actually wanted to drive a truck my entire life but life got in the way and I had a son that I had to raise and I did not want to be over the road while he was growing up so I decided to wait until he was grown. Now I`m free to make my dream come true
haha...you could be right about that, lol. I had 75 kids on my route! But thanks to that experience I have learned that it is true what they say, "What doesn`t kill you makes you stronger"
