LandStar if you own your truck and trailer.

I'm based outta Decatur. While the terminal is garbage.. Our Reefer DMs actually work with your can't say anything about the Dry side there with that being said. It's basically more of a personalized experience with the Reefer DMs there the Operations Manager used to be a driver if I recall correctly and she's always on the ball when it comes to watching out for the trucks in the fleet. My DM is awesome about keeping me rolling and so is my buddies. FYI I'm from AZ (but I picked Decatur)

Don't they require running their number and elogs?
-
I'm not 100% on what they require, however you can ask in the landstar section. I do know from looking into the company for myself that they do run Elogs hence the requirement of a 2000 or newer truck...

Hey Sham i appreciate the info buddy! It sounds like pretty good outfit. Better than our Jonestown terminal. Lol. I might give Decatur a call next week.

All in all it seems like the tradeout of time vs. cpm balances out in the long run. That being said, the uncertainty of when (and if) I'm gonna be loaded/unloaded would probably drive me bonkers.
loose_leafs and Jonkie Thank this. -
You'll make a little more in temp control but you'll have a lot of wait time ,4 am drops and no drop and hook
RookieJ1987 Thanks this. -
It helps to have a good working relationship with your DM.. This week SO FAR I've ran 3400 miles pulled a 34 while under a load and still have several days to run a few short loads to bump this check even higher. There is a possibility of me hitting 4250-5000 milesRookieJ1987 and Jonkie Thank this.

I don't think so...To run 5000 miles plus a 34... you'd have to be rolling non-stop at well over 80+ mph every single day down to the last minute. You'd have to be rolling over 67mph just to hit 4250 (not counting drop/hooks or loads/unloads).
