i am sure olhand is correct on principle of load being at temp
but for the newbie company drivers just do it as BOL states
most of the biggies are remotly monitoring load temps these days
and you will get a call from dispatch if load is out by over 5 degrees from BOL temp

frozen is frozen dont matter if its -10 or -100,, the reason most brokers/ shippers want subzero say -20 is that if you have a break down your still good for many hours before it thaws out !!!!

When you are the driver and you agree to the rules, then don't follow them... Well then that is the type person you are.

Company drivers, please run your reefers continuous all the time. Keep that fuel cost and maintenance cost as high as you can. When the big guys have a higher cost it will help rates to go up. They already have plenty advantage in their buying power and self insurance and all of that versus the last few independents.
alds, Short Fuse EOD, buddyvuk and 4 others Thank this. -

I haul a reefer most of the things we haul say -10 . Why do they say that ? I pulped things in the walmart freezer when you shop its like 3 degrees. The things in my freezer at home are 0.
I do what those bills say but is there a difference between setting the reefer at 0 or -10 ? It just seems like my reefer unit runs alot more then what it needs to ?
